Yale-New Haven Hospital is a teaching hospital affiliated with Yale University providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical, psychiatric, and emergency services. The Yale-New Haven Hospital includes Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital, Yale-New Haven Psychiatric Hospital and Smilow Cancer Hospital. Separate units and outpatient clinics provide specialized treatment for AIDS, asthma, cancer, childhood illness, internationally adopted children, genetic disorders, craniofacial disorders, and other conditions. Community based health services include a primary care center, a women's health center, a geriatric assessment center, a dental center, and school based health centers. Outreach and special programs include the Digital Mobile Mammography Van, the Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program, and WIC. Healthy Start applications are accepted at the hospital through a New Haven Health Dept. outreach site.
