Legal aid organization provides legal counseling and representation to low-income individuals and families in matters relating to civil law. Provides legal representation, brief service, and information in cases involving family violence, divorce, child support and other family matters; special education, and other services for children with disabilities; legal issues related to subsidized rental housing, eviction, and homelessness; representation for people being denied or terminated from public assistance, Social Security, SSI, or other publicly funded programs; employment related issues, and elder issues including Medicaid, nursing home, and consumer problems. Connecticut Legal Services does not represent clients in criminal matters. Services are free for eligible clients.
