Individual Training Accounts (ITAs) help pay for certain types of training at approved training providers. Persons apply for an ITA at American Job Centers. Eligibility criteria must be met and not everyone who applies will be eligible. Funding is limited, so the number of available ITAs is also limited.
Some eligibility requirements are determined by federal regulations, and others are determined by the local Workforce Investment Boards; Persons must go to the local American Job Center to inquire about eligibility criteria, available funding, and the process for obtaining an ITA.

American Job Centers, (formerly CT Works One Stop Career Centers), offer all Connecticut job seekers career counseling, resume preparation assistance, job search support services, workshops, and access to a database of job postings. AJCs also refer eligible individuals to federally funded job training and intensive job search support services. Connecticut businesses also use the AJCs for employee recruiting, job training, and related support services. American Job Centers are a collaboration of state, regional, and local organizations addressing the workforce development needs of Connecticut. There are full-service and affiliate offices. The full-service offices offer locations where Veterans Representatives are located, although appointments can be made to meet in other offices.
