Parenting Support Services programs funded by DCF provides free, weekly parent education to parents and caregivers of children 0 through 17. Services are provided either in-home or in a group setting by statewide providers. Services last an average of four months. Topics covered include caregiver/child relationships, peace in the home, positive discipline strategies, stress reduction, co-parenting skills, self-esteem, communication, quality time and improving behaviors. A case management component is also included to address fundamental needs. Services are specific to each individual family’s self-identified goals. Skills are taught utilizing Circle of Security Parenting and Triple P Positive Parenting Program’s curriculums.

Substance abuse and mental health treatment agency offers residential, outpatient, day/evening and partial hospitalization programs. Prevention programs focus on parent education and youth development. There is also a transitional housing program for homeless veterans.
