Inpatient detoxification provides individuals with 24 hour medical and nursing supervision. Program components include pharmacotherapy and educational groups. Detox is usually 3-5 days. Spanish speaking staff available. Patients who are opioid dependent are evaluated by a physician to determine if methadone detoxification through the Opioid Treatment Program is appropriate for them. The program is not appropriate for pregnant women, patients under 18 years of age, and patients who have been detoxed using methadone two times within the past 12 months (unless the patient meets the CSAT criteria for waiver and waiver application is filed by the physician).

General acute care teaching hospital provides inpatient and outpatient medical, psychiatric and substance abuse services and community clinics. Special hospital centers include Sleep Disorder Center, Pain Management Center, Center for Advanced Wound Healing/ Lymphedema Therapy, Regional Cancer Center, Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute,and Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute. Saint Francis Care Connect@City Hall located on the ground floor of Hartford's City Hall, provides treatment and services exclusively to City and State employees and their families. Community services include support groups, wellness programs, Family Enrichment Services, and a Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program. The Sinai School located at the Mount Sinai Campus provides services to children and adolescents admitted to the hospital's inpatient psychiatric units. St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center entities include the Mount Sinai Campus and the Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital.
