Community support program will engage families who have received a Family Assessment Response from DCF and connect them to concrete, traditional and non-traditional resources and services in their community. This inclusive approach and partnership, places the family in the lead role of its own service delivery. The role of the contractor is to assist the family in developing solutions, identify community resources and supports based on need and help promote permanent connections for the family with an array of supports and resources within their community.

Behavioral health group has been providing comprehensive behavioral health prevention, and domestic violence services that improve the lives and health of the individuals, families and communities served. BHcare is a one-stop-shop behavioral and preventative care organization that proves an array of comprehensive services which all focus on providing hope and help for the individuals and families served. Recognized as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), BHCare is designed to provide a comprehensive range of mental health and substance use disorders to vulnerable individuals by stabilizing people in crisis and providing treatment for those with the most serious and complex issues. Programming includes adult behavioral health treatment and supports, children's behavioral health services, supportive and supervised housing, employment services, and social clubs. BHcare also provides comprehensive domestic violence services, and education and prevention services. BHcare is designated by the CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services as the Local Behavioral Health Authority for the towns of Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and Shelton in the Valley; and Branford, East Haven, Guilford, Madison, and North Haven on the Shoreline and is the primary caregiver for adults who are struggling with serious and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorders. Both BHcare Outpatient Clinics are licensed by the CT Department of Public Health as a Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic for Adults as a Facility for the Care or Treatment of Substance Abusive or Dependent Persons. BHcare's The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services is the domestic violence program for Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Orange, Oxford, Seymour and Shelton, providing walk-in crisis counseling, emergency shelter and crime victim advocacy. The HOPE Family Justice Center provides those services as well as on-site legal and other supports for residents of New Haven, West Haven, East Haven, North Haven, Hamden, Milford, Bethany, Woodbridge, Branford, North Branford, and Guilford and Madison. BHcare’s Alliance for Prevention and Wellness fosters positive mental health by preventing substance misuse and other health-risk behaviors, and by building resources that promote wellness for residents of Ansonia, Bethany, Branford, Chester, Clinton, Cromwell, Deep River, Derby, Durham, East Haddam, East Hampton, East Haven, Essex, Guilford, Haddam, Hamden, Killingworth, Lyme, Madison, Meriden, Middlefield, Middletown, Milford, New Haven, North Branford, North Haven, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, Orange, Portland, Seymour, Shelton, Wallingford, Westbrook, West Haven, Woodbridge.
