Parents and guardians can file motions for child support directly at the Superior Court, without using the services of the CT Dept. of Social Services. Filing directly at the court usually involves fees and attorney fees; filing with DSS is either no fee or very low fee.If a case has been filed directly at the court, then the court also handles enforcement and modification of support orders. (For information and problem resolution for cases filed through DSS, call the Judicial Branch's Child Support Call Center at 1-800-228-KIDS (5437).
