Medicaid coverage program for low income elderly, blind, or disabled persons. Individuals that may need long-term services and supports, also known as long-term care (nursing home or home- and community-based care), he/she may be eligible for HUSKY C.
Age 65+ or disabled; Must be U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status; Must have source of income; Net income must be below standard of living established by the CT State Legislature; Asset limit for individual is $1600; Asset limit for couple is $2400; Income limits vary depending on where in Connecticut you live and the coverage you need (HUSKY C)

Applicants can apply online to DSS at www.connect.ct.gov, in person by going to his/her local DSS office, or by mail -You can also use the ‘W-1E’ form to apply for these programs
State agency administers state and federal cash assistance, SNAP/food stamp and medical insurance programs for low income individuals, individuals who are elderly or disabled, and refugees. Cash or medical insurance programs include Temporary Family Assistance (TFA); State Administered General Cash Assistance (SAGA); State Supplement for the Aged, Blind and Disabled (State Supplement); Medicaid; and other medical expense or personal care assistance programs for special populations. DSS also administers funding for child support enforcement services, energy assistance, rental assistance, emergency housing programs, burial funds for the indigent, and protective services for the elderly.
