DEEP develops strategies to reduce air, water and solid waste pollution and monitors hazardous waste sites, ground water, oil and chemical spills, radiation emission, and asbestos disposal. DEEP also investigates citizen complaints about waste dumping, odors and dust in the air, spills and releases of oil, chemicals, mercury spills, and radiation.
