WHAT IS A WAGE ATTACHMENT?
A wage attachment, formally titled as a Wage Execution, is the process of deducting money from wages to pay a judgment. Also called a garnishment, a wage attachment can only be made by a court order. The Legal Assistance Resource Center of Conn. offers a more detailed explanation in its pamphlet "A Guide to Wage Attachments”.
