Retirement Communities
- are age-restricted communities that offer apartments, single family homes, or condominiums for rent or for sale;
- vary in terms of the kinds of services they provide and the fees they charge;
- are designed for older adults who are in reasonably good health and can live independently;
- offer recreational activities and supportive services;
- are usually moderate to high priced depending upon the services and amenities provided;
- may have strict rules regarding maintenance and conformity with the design of the community; and
- may require monthly maintenance fees in addition to rent or mortgage payments.
