PRO SE DIVORCE

WHAT IS PRO SE DIVORCE?
Pro se means that you are representing yourself in court, rather than having an attorney represent you. You follow the same procedure, but you must fill out and file all the legal forms yourself.

Go to CWEALF (Conn. Women's Education and Legal Fund) Publications: Divorce for answers to the following questions:

Can anyone do a pro se divorce?
Is it possible to do a divorce pro se if I have children?
What if my spouse lives out of state?
What if I don't know where my spouse is?

DO-IT-YOURSELF DIVORCE GUIDE

The Do-It-Yourself Divorce Guide and Do-It-Yourself Guide Supplement (must be used together) are written to help people without legal training use Connecticut State Courts to obtain a divorce without the use of an attorney. The books are available free to anyone and can be obtained from any Judicial District (JD) court clerk. Sets of books are also available at public libraries, legal aid offices, and domestic violence shelters.
