GETTING A FREE OR LOW COST COMPUTER
Programs in some agencies, community service centers and towns offer free or low cost computers to eligible individuals, families or communities. These programs will often accept donations of used computers that can be refurbished and distributed with no charge or offered for sale at a nominal cost.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
Eligibility varies for receiving a free or low computer. Some agencies or towns may offer a computer to an individual or family in need who are residents of the town or regional area. Other agencies may offer computers to people who have enrolled in or completed their computer training classes. Still other agencies will modify donated computers so they can be used by people with disabilities.
