DISLOCATED WORKERS
WHAT IS A DISLOCATED WORKER?
According to the Connecticut Department of Labor, the term "dislocated workers" includes:
- individuals who have been or will be laid off as a result of a plant closure or other substantial layoff
- laid-off workers who are unlikely to return to their previous industry or occupation
- displaced homemakers
- self-employed individuals who are unemployed because of general economic conditions or a natural disaster
DISLOCATED WORKER BENEFITS
Dislocated workers receive career transition services including career development help, resume writing assistance, job search assistance, CT Job Bank listings and possible job training funds.
HOW DO I GET CLASSIFIED AS A DISLOCATED WORKER?
To be classified as a Dislocated Worker, you must go through the certification process at any Connecticut Works Center.
