CONNECTICUT AGRICULTURAL FAIRS

Connecticut has a long-standing tradition of agricultural annual events that are held throughout the state usually from July through October with the majority held in August or September.

Agricultural fairs feature competitive exhibits of local agricultural products and livestock with prizes awarded for excellence. Activities might include sheep shearing to horse pulling, livestock judging to farm equipment displays and woodsmen's challenges. Fairs sometimes offer entertainment, carnival rides and attractions, refreshment outlets, games and other sporting and non-sporting events.
